Information Management System for Nipa palm

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to 1) create a database, 2) develop a management information system of nipa palm utilization and 3) evaluate user satisfaction on the system which can be used to manage information and distribute knowledge of nipa palm and nipa palm products of the community in Phra Samut Chedi district, Samut Prakan province. The data were collected from 31 samples consisting of leaders/community representatives and leader/community enterprise representatives. The information included the need and presentation format of data. The database was created using MariaDB with Adminer. The system was constructed using PHP. The user interface was created using HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery and Ajax. The results showed that the developed database could provide nipa palm information and utilization, user information, store, and community product sales. The system could be managed by adding, deleting, editing, searching and checking data. It also supported general users, contributors, vendors, and system administrators. The efficiency of the system evaluated by 5 experts and 70 users was at high level with the average of 4.40 and 3.56, respectively. Summary of research findings, developed system can help manage data usage of Nipa Palm, bring benefits good with user.
