Abstract

This research aims to produce foamed for laboratory animal bedding from biodegradable poly Lactic acid (PLA) and Polybutylene succinate (PBS) blend with Durian Rind Fiber (DRF) for to change the animal bedding material by adding an indicator to measure the released urea content of laboratory animals. This assembly polymer composite is prepared with the twin screw extruder with PLA:PBS:DRF with a ratio of 100:0:0, 0:100:0, 40:60:0, 40:60:5, 40:60:10, 40:60:15 by specifying the amount of Durian Rind Fiber (phr) respectively and with anthocyanin 3.8%WV and has study a physical, chemical, thermal properties and Absorbing secretions. The results, it was found that animal bedding from polymer composite at the ratio 40:60:15 have the ability to maintain various properties. That is appropriate to be used as a animal bedding for animals in the laboratory.
