Abstract
การใช้เคมีบําบัดเป็นการควบคุมโรคมาลาเรียที่มีประสิทธิภาพ แต่มักประสบกับปัญหาที่สำคัญคือเชื้อ ฟัลซิพารัมดื้อต่อยาต้านมาลาเรียแทบทุกชนิดที่ใช้อยู่ในปัจจุบัน ดังนั้นจึงจำเป็นต้องคิดค้นยาต้านมาลาเรีย ชนิดใหม่ ๆ ขึ้นมาแทน การพัฒนายาต้านมาลาเรียมี แนวทางที่สำคัญ 2 ประการคือ การนำยาต้านมาลาเรีย ที่ใช้อยู่ในปัจจุบันมาวิเคราะห์โครงสร้าง และสังเคราะห์ สารใหม่ที่มีประสิทธิภาพมากกว่าเดิม ส่วนอีกแนวทาง หนึ่งคือการวิเคราะห์ชีววิทยาของเชื้อฟัลซิพารัมเพื่อหาเป้าหมายใหม่ ๆ เพื่อการสังเคราะห์ยาต้านมาลาเรีย แนวทางนี้กำลังเป็นที่สนใจของนักวิจัย เพราะคาดว่าจะได้ยาต้านมาลาเรียที่มีโครงสร้างแตกต่างไปจากเดิมซึ่งจะ สามารถแก้ปัญหาการดื้อยาของเชื้อฟัลซิพารัมได้
