Our journal encourages thoughtful and ethical use of AI while emphasizing the importance of human authorship and critical engagement.

1. Permissible Use
Authors may use AI tools for the following purposes:
• Language editing or translation support
• Transcription or data organization
AI tools must be used under the author’s critical direction, and final decisions must reflect the author’s original intent and intellectual contribution.

2. Disclosure Requirements
All AI use must be clearly disclosed in the submission. Please include:
• The name of the AI tool and a brief description of its use.
• A disclosure must be clearly stated in a separate section at the end of the manuscript, depending on the nature of the submission

Example:
“This article incorporates language suggestions generated by all current and future AI tools to improve readability. All content was reviewed, edited, and approved by the author.”

3. Unacceptable Use
The following uses of AI are not permitted:
• Plagiarism Detector: Prevent Academic Misconduct (CopyCatch and Akarawisut)
• Using AI to generate peer reviews or evaluations
• Misrepresenting AI-assisted work as fully human-created

4. If later the article is found to use AI assistance, the Vector Borne Diseases Journal reserves the right to remove and reject it from the publication in the future.
