Abstract

This descriptive study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the campaign project 'Dengue hemorrhagic fever in Amphur Muang's school, Nonthaburi Province'. The project was carried out between July to August, 2004 by interviewing 218 persons of teachers and students and surveying of larvae from 35 schools where were sampling from all of primary schools and secondary schools in Amphur Muang, Nonthaburi Province. The result showed that there were 18 of 35 schools (51.43%) joined with this project. The most numbers of teachers and students had knowledge about prevention and control of Dengue hemorrhagic fever in moderate. They had low knowledge about signs and symptoms and treatment of Dengue hemorrhagic. The most teachers had known about this project from the key persons (key teachers) and their directors, 43.1% and 31.2% respectively. There were 87.2% of students knew that there was this project in their schools, 79.8% knew their schools had the larval control activity in every Friday and 90.8% participated in this activity. However, the CI have shown in high level at 11-40(44.4%) which the containers found larvae were flower vases (60.30%). The environments in schools were rather clear (61.10%). It was indicated that this project needed more continually encouragement by the cooperation of all of government's organizations, such as schools, health centers, communities and all of the relative persons for succession of prevention and control of Dengue hemorrhagic fever.
