ศักยภาพของข้าวฟ่างสำหรับอุตสาหกรรมเยื่อกระดาษ กระดาษ และพลังงานชีวภาพ

บทคัดย่อ
บทความวิชาการนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อประเมินศักยภาพของข้าวฟ่าง (Sorghum spp.) ในฐานะวัตถุดิบเส้นใยทางเลือกสำหรับอุตสาหกรรมเยื่อกระดาษ กระดาษ และพลังงานชีวภาพ โดยทบทวนองค์ประกอบทางเคมี สัณฐานวิทยาของเส้นใย เทคโนโลยีการผลิตเยื่อ และสมบัติเยื่อและกระดาษ ข้าวฟ่าง
มีองค์ประกอบหลัก ได้แก่ เซลลูโลสร้อยละ 38–45 เฮมิเซลลูโลสร้อยละ 25–35 และลิกนินร้อยละ 15–20 รวมถึงมีปริมาณซิลิกาต่ำ ซึ่งลดปัญหาการเกิดตะกรันในระบบผลิตเยื่อ กระบวนการโซดา–แอนทราควิโนนให้ประสิทธิภาพสูงกว่ากระบวนการโซดาและคราฟต์ โดยให้ผลผลิตเยื่อร้อยละ 45–58 และสามารถใช้สารด่างในระดับต่ำกว่า ส่งผลให้ลดการใช้สารเคมี ต้นทุนการผลิต และผลกระทบต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมนอกจากนี้ เยื่อที่ได้มีคุณสมบัติเหมาะสมสำหรับการผลิตกระดาษพิมพ์เขียนและกระดาษบรรจุภัณฑ์ อย่างไรก็ตาม ข้อจำกัดสำคัญ ได้แก่ ความแปรปรวนของวัตถุดิบ ความไม่สม่ำเสมอตามฤดูกาล และปัญหาด้านโลจิสติกส์ ในการจัดเก็บและขนส่งวัตถุดิบสมัยใหม่ ในระบบผลิตเยื่อ กระบวนการโซดา–แอนทราควิโนน (soda–AQ process) ให้ประสิทธิภาพสูงกว่ากระบวนการโซดา (soda process) และคราฟต์ (kraft process) โดยให้ผลผลิตเยื่อ (pulp yield) ร้อยละ 45–58 และใช้สารด่างที่มีค่า active alkali ต่ำกว่า ส่งผลให้ลดการใช้สารเคมี ต้นทุนและผลกระทบสิ่งแวดล้อม
