The Design and Development of a Website to Promote Tourism of Historical Sites in Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Rajabhat University

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) design and develop a website to promote archaeological tourism sites in the area of Rajabhat Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya University, 2) evaluate the efficiency of the website design and development, and 3) assess user satisfaction with the website. This study was applied research. The research instruments consisted of the website, an efficiency evaluation form, and a satisfaction questionnaire. The statistics used in this study were descriptive statistics, including percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The research findings revealed that 1) the website was designed and developed by using the ADDIE Model together with PHP and Bootstrap, which enabled the development to meet its objectives and be practically usable. The website also supported responsive web design, allowing it to function properly on various devices and operating systems. This research contributed to the promotion of historical and cultural tourism, as well as the conservation and dissemination of the value of local archaeological sites for the benefit of the community, tourists, and relevant organizations in a sustainable manner. 2) The efficiency of the website, as evaluated by three purposively selected information technology experts, was rated at a high level (= 4.47). 3) User satisfaction with the website, as assessed by a sample of 400 participants selected through convenience sampling, was also rated at a high level ( = 4.33).
