Attitudes and behaviors of students entering the Faculty of Agriculture

Abstract

          This research aimed to study the attitudes of students enrolled in the Faculty of Technology and Community Development, Phatthalung Province, and to investigate their satisfaction levels regarding the faculty's instructional management. The sample group consisted of 123 first-year students from the Faculty of Technology and Community Development. The research instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean (M), and standard deviation (SD). The research findings revealed that the majority of the students were female, Buddhist, and currently in their first year of study. The most populated major was Animal Science. Most students' families were engaged in agriculture, with an average monthly household income ranging from 10,000 to 20,000 Baht. Regarding satisfaction with studying at the Faculty of Technology and Community Development, it was found that students' overall satisfaction was at a high to highest level. The curriculum aspect received the highest mean score, followed by facilities and environmental factors, respectively. Furthermore, students expressed high satisfaction with the instructors' attentiveness, the modernity of the curriculum, the readiness of facilities, and the conducive learning atmosphere. The research results in the abstract provide a broad overview and should be further refined for concrete application by highlighting key findings and linking them to practical curriculum and instructional development. The findings suggest the following practical recommendations: Develop the curriculum to be modern and aligned with agricultural and community contexts. Promote the role of instructors in providing close guidance and counseling to students. Improve facilities and the learning environment to be sufficient and up-to-date. Design instructional management that aligns with the students' backgrounds to enhance learning efficiency.
