Effects of Monosodium Glutamate by-Product (ami-ami) on Growth and Yield of Rice
Keywords:
rice, monosodium glutamate by-product (ami-ami)Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of monosodium glutamate by-product (ami-ami) on growth and yield of rice cv. Suphanburi 1. Experimental design was arranged in Randomized Complete Block (RCB) with 4 replications and consisted of 8 treatments. The study revealed that the applying ami-ami 120 liter/rai combined with chemical fertilizers, i.e., equivalent to 120 liter/rai of ami-ami (AM120+IFAM120) showed the highest plant height, tiller/plant, leaf greenness and total weight, with non-significant difference to the application of chemical fertilizers, i.e., equivalent to 240 liter/rai of ami-ami (IFAM240). Furthermore, the applying ami-ami 120 liter/rai combined with chemical fertilizers, i.e., equivalent to 120 liter/rai of ami-ami (AM120+IFAM120) gave the highest panicle/plant, grain weight and good seed weight, followed by that the application of chemical fertilizers, i.e., equivalent to 240 liter/rai of ami-ami (IFAM240) and the applying ami-ami 240 liter/rai (AM240)
