Dendrocalamus sp., also referred to as Pai Sang Mon, is a bamboo species with great potential due to its wide range of applications, resulting in high market demand. However, a number of restrictions continue to limit its spread. Shoot clusters were cultivated on six different semi-solid MS medium formulations supplemented with TDZ, BA, NAA, and additives such as AgNO₃ and coumarin. The medium was changed every two weeks over a period of eight subcultures, using a completely randomized design (CRD). The results showed that medium set 3—MS supplemented with 0.05 mg/L TDZ, 0.5 mg/L BA, and 0.05 mg/L NAA alternating with MS supplemented with 0.05 mg/L TDZ, 1.0 mg/L BA, and 0.05 mg/L NAA—achieved the highest shoot multiplication rate, yielding an average of 80.7 ± 2.8 shoots per explant. The average shoot length was 2.32 ± 0.09 cm, and the shoots exhibited uniform green coloration and consistent growth. This formulation increased shoot numbers from an initial average of 14.2 ± 2.2 shoots in the first subculture to 80.7 ± 2.8 shoots in the eighth subculture, representing a 5.7-fold multiplication. These findings demonstrate the potential for efficient in vitro multiplication of Dendrocalamus sp. for large scale propagation.
